Description
Original artwork by David Freeland | Commissioned by Dave Trexler
This pendant was commissioned by paleontologist Dave Trexler to mark the 40th anniversary of the discovery of Maiasaura. Featuring original artwork by David Freeland, the design centers on a stylized Maiasaura skull set against a celestial background. Small reflective accents are incorporated as a direct nod to a notable chapter in the species’ history: in 1985, Maiasaura bone fragments and eggshell material were flown aboard SpaceLab 2 and completed an Earth orbit.
Set in a polished metal frame with a matching bail, the pendant presents the artwork in a durable, wearable format. The contrast of the etched illustration against the black field highlights the skull while allowing the space-themed elements to remain clearly visible.
